- During this last break, ask yourself, “I wonder whether I have what it
takes“ (to go on a lifelong learning kick . . . to improve my energy
level . . . to learn to play an instrument . . . to joyfully keep
bettering my best . . . etc. etc.). ► When we get back, we’ll
discuss the mastering of one’s self within the framework of E:P:N. Is
that a necessary step? Yes and No. Yes, if you are frugal or in a hurry
to become independent. If money doesn’t matter and you’re okay with
having others run your life, skip it. Stick to what we started: Fill in
the blanks on the last worksheet. ► In fact, if you consider
yourself to be a servant soul, it doesn’t matter anyway. It only matters
when your need for autonomy is greater than your need to be of service.
The cost and nature of your training depends on your innate E:P:N ratio.
If you are a rebel or simply don’t like to study, don’t clutter up the
classrooms. Get out into real life and learn to make a living . . . Get
training on the job, whatever it may be. Mindless jobs can be rewarding.
Even my own kids like to reminisce about the many jobs they had while
working their way through college. It’s the school of hard knocks, and
it’s not all bad. Compiling and evaluating your short list will help you
make some good temporary decisions. Take five.
