In more current
terms, Bloom’s taxonomy shows Knowledge to be the largest of the six stages
of organized progress, regardless of whether it is drawn base up or base down
like this. In language-acquisition, where knowledge tends to mean vocabulary,
you will hear arguments on whether this taxonomy is valid, but it is more
true than not, especially to those of us who tend not to use words and
phrases we are not sure of. Remember, knowledge means different things to
different people . . . which is the main reason for this E:P:N-based
discussion. Right?
